Volunteers will be stationed for 1 – 4 school terms. While it is well funded, it can be a challenge to get adequate staff. The volunteers are engaged in many tasks including classroom assistance, co-curricular activities and one-on-one student support. Their contributions are particularly appreciated in peer support and in encouraging school attendance.
Our volunteers are accommodated in school housing, with a property being allocated for their exclusive use. The Principal of the school is the host of the volunteers. The community at large is extremely welcoming and supportive of the volunteers. Our partners’ welcome provides our volunteers with an unparalleled opportunity to walk side by side with the community.
